About

CV

Sven Vollbrecht (born in West-Berlin) lives and works in Berlin.

Sven Vollbrecht is known for sculpture, spatial installation, video and participatory formats that turn everyday objects against their usual function to reveal the mechanisms of consumption, control and communication. Vollbrecht initially worked as a photographer and director before devoting himself exclusively to fine art in 2022. As a self-taught artist without formal art education, he developed his practice independently.

Vollbrecht has exhibited at institutions and venues including Berlin Art Week, Notagallery, Haus am Kleistpark, PRACHTSAAL and RÄUME.ART. In 2022, his video installation Digital Void was shown as part of Berlin Art Week at the former Tegel Airport, followed in 2024 by his sculpture Echo at Haus am Kleistpark. Vollbrecht has increasingly worked in the digital and public realm: his project .COMpliance (2026), the performative return of the domain gallery-weekend-berlin.com in the form of a gold readymade, drew international attention, including coverage by ZEITBLATT and the art magazine bspoque.
