Stasis amidst motion. Two wheels spinning, yet achieving nothing. A quiet admission of isolation within a society that preaches closeness yet rewards distance. Two subjects, each in their own sphere of expectation and self-presentation. Trapped in a cycle of optimization where standing still is deemed failure and movement becomes a duty. Mounted at eye level, they could look at one another. Turn monologue into dialogue, bridge the distance lying between them. Yet the fear of silence drives them onward. Higher, faster, deeper into external validation that is never quite enough. Real encounter is left behind—a blind spot in one’s field of vision. A sculpture of lingering, mounted on the same wall, connected by nothing but the distance between them. Close together. Infinitely far apart.
